Another variety of Japanese maple in the cork bark family. Ibo Nishiki mean “Wart Bark”, However this variety has a more subtle appearance than other cork barks such as Arakawa or Nishiki Gawa. Bark on this variety takes a little longer to develop than others. Leaf shape is more similar to regular Acer Palmatum and has pink/purple edges on new growth.
